Tornado GR.3

Post by CallSignOWL »

This is Italeri's kit of the tornado in 1/72 scale. Nothing much in teh way of additions here, the cockpit was decently detailed, and there were more than enough stores included to portray a full load. Though, there was an OOPS on my part, in that I neglected to add in nose-weight! :chair:

as always, comments appreciated!

Great Tornado! A minor nitpick, it is GR , ground attack and reconnesaince version, not the F, fighter variant. Besides the armaments and camouflage, the short nose is also a tell tale sign of the GR.

Great work! I'm always amazed at the stuff people can do in 1/72. I have enough "fun" in 1/32 & 1/35!

Not bad the tornado too ,great work out of the... Weight and the name, this plane is a GR. 1, the English interception role is the f.3, also know as ADV (as Borg says they have longer noses ,also belly adaptors as the phantom II to carry sparrow missiles). The Italian and german strike version is named IDS .the last version introduced by the tornado is the electronic warfare and radar suppression ECR, almost identical to IDS or GR.1 out of few details .

I like it a lot OWL. It looks as if it has more details than the Hasegawa kit I made way back when. I can tell by the detail in the speedbrakes.

the cammo is a killer! I know how hard it is to do a hard-edge cammo.
