Phantom, airframe groups
This thread is going to be about the Phantom airframe groups. I am going to try and tell the history, and build order for each group. The reason for this specific grouping of the airframes is to make the groups more "modeler friendly", because in order to build a specific Phantom, you firs...

How I intend to use this forum
First, thank you for this place to post some of the things that I am sure will help other modelers. It will be mostly Navair info, but, I am not going to be able to stop myself from posting some "other brands" of Phantoms in here, too. And to be honest, other user's Phantoms had a lot to d...

Re: 1:1 Scale 1994 Chevrolet Truck Upgrade
Stuart, here in the US, there are people that take a photo each time to Odometer "rolls over" to all Zeroes again. both of our vehicles, one a Suzuki Wagon, and one a GMC itty bitty pickup, are in the 230,000 range for mileage. This is despite the fact that the GMC/Chevy 4 cylinder has a r...

Re: 1:1 Scale 1994 Chevrolet Truck Upgrade
It sounded especially cool when you had a Quadrajet carb under it. Made it sound like you had added 50 more horsepower, instead of the 4 or 5 it really gave you. (it did help MPGs a lot, if you could keep from making the sound) I did that once with a Ford air cleaner on a Chevelle, for a friend. It ...

Re: Does my modeling method drive you nuts?
I mean my own work, Stik. I mostly just want the photos of my finished models. I don't like stopping to take a photo of the cockpit, then the cockpit again, then the seats,,,,the belts, etc. I enjoy looking at what others do,,,,,,,but, even if I wanted to take those in-progress photos, half the time...

Re: Does my modeling method drive you nuts?
Photos are coming. I have long said that taking pictures is last on my list of things to do in this hobby. And the PhotoBucket "zap" that happened messed my stuff up really well. It broke the links to almost everything I have already posted,,,,,,,,and when I went to PhotoBucket to download...

Re: Does my modeling method drive you nuts?
Thanks guys. I know that some of this stuff pokes a stick at a lot of people's "sacred cows",,,,,,,,but there are just too many of these things that "everyone knows" that were just not true in real life. I'm modeling an example of every one of them that I know about,,,,,,and will...

Does my modeling method drive you nuts?
I know, that is a strange title. But, I was taking a break from typing up my collection list over on the Hangar Deck. While I was working away on the entries to start gathering my notes into, I got to wondering if my way of doing this bothers other people? I know that it seems like "non-modelin...

Re: Dauntless, rear deck bottles?
Yes, it is fairly bright.
To see the color, you might look at Yellow Wings Decals website, I am sure one of their sheets is of the Green section. Or you could look at Starfighter Decals site, I know that they have that color on some of their 1/72 sheets.

Re: Thoughts on Scalemates
Can't speak for the others,,,,,but, I don't "buy and hide",,,,in fact, I buy less than what she sees at the shows. And mine is all in the living room, her "home laptop" is right under my Skyrays, Panthers, Hornets and Hellcats, in fact. (I can see them from here) She sits in betw...
