Thankee kindly, Mark. I hesitated to mention what was happening, but I have been so tight for the past six months, I'm saving every scrap I have. My buddy Matthew hasn't been able to help, either. It's tough times for us all, I know. That's why I'm so grateful to be a part of the forum and the folks here who are ready to help out. With gas at six bucks per gallon, and I've been doing deliveries, I really am unable to drive out and back to you unless it was part of a work deal, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I wish things were better for us all.

Chris—I thank you for following along. I am learning a lot from your approach to your Monogram jet fighter project. It does showcase how much trial and error is involved in correcting mold design simplifications; the errors and omissions that creep into building a scale model. I’m truly not sure I’ve taken the right approach here.

Bruce, Happy Easter to you as well. I am flattered that you are inspired by my F-14 thread.. As to your doubting your approach. I would say that if you feel you have improved the model , then it is a win. As I have said before, don't let perfect be the enemy of the good.

Your attention to the details in the accuracy of this build is astounding Bruce. I will definitely agree with Chris here on the perfection bit. Been here many MANY times and it's resulted in numerous stall outs. Keep at it and do the best you can. Looking forward to seeing more here buddy.

Dear Chris, Carlos and Joe—I truly appreciate your support. You're outstanding human beings. I mean this most sincerely and I'd like to carry this sentiment over to many others here as well, starting with our owner/admins Torben and Lyle to our outstanding members who I have had the honor of following along and learning from. It doesn't matter what the kit subject is—what matter is the depth of understanding that every one of you brings to each project—and that includes the knowledge of when to stop pursuing that raggedly blinding edge of perfection which doesn't exist but gives us the motivation to pursue new ideas.

I'm going to close this note with what Windsock Data File says: "Despite the many plastic kits that have appeared in the wake of Revell's 1:28 version, first introduced in 1957, none have eclipsed it." Now this was published in 2004, a full five years before Wingnut Wings appeared, but I still think this kit has legs and life to it and for me to learn from it is a pleasure.
