Re: The Children of Doom
Thanks, Carlos. Are the pieces all from the same kit? It’s hard to tell but the fuse halves are darker in color, which could be as a result of sanding which removed the gloss surface. Perhaps bad QC from Hasegawa.

For filling big gaps, styrene shims are my preferred method. Putty doesn’t have the same lasting power.BlackSheep214 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2026 11:02 am Nice fix. Ill have remember that method with styrene strips.

Re: The Children of Doom
Today was good progress on my Johnson Jug… I got the seam filling all cleaned up and sanded smooth

Then after that I added the horizontal stabilizers and a few other small bits to finish up the main airframe construction

I have the cowling almost wrapped up and ready to add to the airframe. Next week, more progress…

Very cool Carlos, I do like a nice Thunderbolt. Good job on filling that gap, I used that method a lot too.

Man that sucks about the warpage. I didn't have that with mine but I do have a problem with the front windscreen fitting.

Re: The Children of Doom
I’ve had best results from this technique compared to putties or gel CA.
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll keep an eye out for when I get there… which should be in a few days. Gotta get the canopy dipped in Future then masked up first, so that’s at least a day or two…Medicman71 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2026 8:57 am Man that sucks about the warpage.
