I also cut out the shallow indents that were supposed to be the airbrake wells. Some plastic card and gizmology helps spruce this area up.
its weird that matchbox gave you engine trunking, but the exhaust is just a flat end. To correct this, I drilled out the end-piece and used a pen-cap to give the exhaust some needed depth. (you can see the separated control surfaces here, too. Yup, im dropping the flaps!)
a LOT of test fitting went in to making sure the two halves could line up correctly, but some clamping was still necessary. There was a sizable gap around the exhaust nozzle even
before I did any modifying. Im just glad that my additions didnt make it any worse!
