Bruce, the Trumpeter crew figures are molded mostly on gray, aside from two accessory sprues in different colors.

This project really required minimal scratch work compared to some recent ones. But thank you.

I was going to get a coat of green on this sucker today. But apparently I did not clean my airbrush properly after yesterday's session so it was not working right. I was able to disassemble and clean the beast, but I am having problems getting it back together in the trigger assembly. Lots of cursing and frustration later, no success and time to go to work... I am so pissed at all my list time this week... maybe tonite after work the airbrush gods will smile on me and allow it to go together right... Then tomorrow I can get the green on... running out of time for the GB Orangecon deadline...

No more flipping deadline builds after this... I'm done with that frustration...

Best of luck. Best wishes. I know you well enough when it comes to model building, Carlos, to know that you will complete your mission. You are motivated. The time line is set. You are on the way towards completing your goal. All the best!

True... but equipment problems throw a big monkey wrench into the situation... I'll give the re assembly a shot tonite after work... if successful tonite, tomorrow I'll get on a nice coat of Russian Green. I am so wanting to get this taken care of...

Well, as I learned in the Army, always have an alternate plan... if my this airbrush proves recalcitrant tonite, I will fall back to one of my others. Seeing how I'm working with an overall monotone scheme, the variable control of this double action is not critical. I can use one of my old single action airbrushes. I just have to do a little adjusting of my equipment... a calm head thinks so much better... :headslap:
Hell, I may just skip straight to plan B... :hmm:

Well, it looks like Plan A is a go. A short while ago, my airbrush gave me no problems in re assembly. Very much unlike 12 hours ago. :headbang: :pod:  :hissy:

In the morning, Russian Green.... :yipee:

Plan A worked! If only it had gone so smoothly yesterday. I airbrushed on a coat of Mission Models Faded Russian Olive Green. The stuff works nicely, but I did get occasional tip dry in this session. But I think that was likely caused by thinned paint having to sit for some 24 hours while I dealt with the airbrush problems. I stirred the stuff thoroughly before use today, but thinned paints that are not used immediately have given me problems in the past. But we're back on track now. I'll try to get some photos up after work tonite.
