Hello! I am just gonna add this here. Feel free to pull it. I was researching the kit and it was nice to see another good review / write up as well as learn about Magic Sculpt!

Yeah, his build is pretty similar to mine so far. Aside from the paint scheme, and his use of an Eduard seat harness. It builds up about the same as the K that I built many years ago. I’ll address the upper wing root gap by adding the lower surface first, then I’ll add the upper wings to get the best mating surface that I can. Test fitting shows that should work.

Similar yes, but also the differences as you pointed out. Yours and his are great approaches to building a great kit! One of the unsung gems is here, methinks. I am also Spidey sensing that Airfix 109 from last year you built that was an award winner.

Well hopefully this one will do well enough to place so I can sit them side by side in my ‘winners case’. They are both Summer of ‘42 in Egypt and potentially met there. It’s quite natural.

Actually more like this, in “Desert (Tittie) Pink”

and this painting is at the end of the North Africa Campaign during the “Palm Sunday Massacre” of April 1943...

Bruce, I had a long well thought out reply for my reasonings to choice of subject. But that will have to wait a bit, because, as usual, my time for such is limited. Perhaps this afternoon...

I just have this bit of progress that I’ve made- the seat harness is mostly painted, and Promodeler instrument decals added to the IP. I made my best shot at replicating the actual instrument positioning by type to the decals that I had.

IP after a dose of Solvaset...

now I just need to put some drops of Future over each one as a lens and it’ll be ready for installation...

So I decided to fix up the gun sight a bit... I can’t stand a solid sheet there where it is supposed to be glass... so I opened up the solid sheet to represent framing...

Image

Then I painted it up and once that dried I added a drop of clear to represent the projector lens, and some clear sheet for the lens... once that dried a quick dose of Future to make it look shiny....

Image

and of course, some Future on each instrument as a lens glass

Image

And some dry brushing on the cockpit sidewalls, floor, and seat, along with some wash in the seat itself to help the belts stand out a bit more....

Image

Image

almost ready for installation....
