Hi John, Thank you so much for your thoughts. I agree! I have nowhere to airbrush at the moment, though, so I am either going to wait until the crew finishes the retrofit and repipe or go off site to Matthew’s studio when he comes back from Florida or brush paint. I have not brushed a model since my first one as a wee lad. So I was thinking of this as an adventure time. Or I wait. I don’t know. I really need to beat the drums for a job anyway, so this is just the briefest respite from the roughest reality. Having been on the dole before, I sincerely appreciate having a steady source of income. Forgive me for bringing personal issues here, but one affects the other.

Bruce, if you do decide to go the handbrush route, have fun with it. As you can see from BSY’s work, it’s nothing to scoff at. And it is certainly a perishable skill. You won’t get good with it by seldom use.

Yes indeed - BSY is the man with the brush (I remember Owl was very good as well). I'm also happy to offer advice as you know dude.Stikpusher wrote:Bruce, if you do decide to go the handbrush route, have fun with it. As you can see from BSY’s work, it’s nothing to scoff at. The other day I replaced a dish drying rack that goes inside a sink - but I had so much trouble finding one! The one I found to fit my sink was made for RVs! So my apartment is small, and I’m limited when it comes to changing that in addition to being really challenged by the lack of a patio. That’s been my paint shop so far. I also want to stress that this is not being “anti-airbrush,” because I do believe in brushes, very much and I have had my eyes opened by following John’s work in particular to painting details. In addition to BSY, I think your work Stuart is phenomenal, and I agree with you, Carlos about losing skills unless you practice. I also don’t want to get so wrapped up in building something that I start losing the basic skills.

I enjoy your journals and models very much. I also enjoy your illustrations.

Can I run this to Kinko’s, print it, and frame it? Because it’d look hella awesome in my office.

Ken, you are too kind. Please send me photos of your recent finished model... I would enjoy drawing that... or the Star Wars Alt-U? Yeah. The Afrika Korps Empire.

Cool. I am down for doing all that. I was thinking about doing the crew’s adventures of the AT-ST, from the perspective of the Empire....

I think that’s a capital idea, Bruce! I always did like the cut of your jib. But you knew that.
