Thanks Kari! Though I can imagine with your skill that these cockpits would really pop!

After looking at that pit I'm convinced I'll be going out and picking up my first Airfix kit now.

This Airfix kit is leaps and bounds better then what they used to make, not that they were bad but the old kits where better than the old Revell/Monogram but not near Hasegawa or Tamiya. Now with these new kits, Airfix is hot on their tails. It seems to me both Airfix and Revell are really stepping up their game which is excellent news for us.

Really impressive work assembling and painting the cockpit! I was going to buy the P-40 Kittyhawk from Sword and build that alongside yours but you will be finished before my kit ships!!! Lol.

No worries, I will buy another one. I’m a sucker for good kits and especially when they are on my favorite list of aircraft!

I pulled this image from a review build. Would you be able to describe how the 7 pieces fit? On your project, I see some extremely fine joinery done by you! Was it a bear, or not?

It looks worse than it is. It is actually a pretty ingenious set up and the pictures will help describe my previous post about using tweezers to push the front radiator half forward for the flush fit. Hope the instructions answer your question as it is worth more than the words I can say about it.





Don’t know if I mentioned it already but the styrene is some good stuff! Thick where is needs to be and the seam you have to sand is a piece of cake. I glob down some Mr Hobby thin cement on the joint, let it cure and see if I have to do it one more time, let that cure and then sand away. I had a small gap issue but all the styrene dust created from sanding was pushed into the gap after I made the surface tacky from Tamiya extra thin and then sanded and buffed the imperfection.

And I am also fond of Airfix ( the new generation ) styrene they use.
